Looking for a new home in these trying digital times

Every website I've ever called home appears to be on the verge of collapse at the moment, so I'm exploring some new options. I can now be found on Bluesky (@/kanonavi.bsky.social) because my fandoms are unfortunately too new to have much of a following here, but since I've been influenced to have some older-fashioned sensibilities by certain lovely friends of mine, I wanted to give this place a try too. Looking forward to exploring Dreamwidth more going forward!

Totally agree with you. I'm also not really into any Traveller ships because I find their character quite boring tbh. I do think Hoyo could have done more to show us Xiao's growth. It undoubtly happening and I'm proud of him, but I do wish they'd show him interacting more with the other adepti and humans instead of just clinging to the Traveller like that. Oh well, I know it's a me problem, so I should stop whining.

Fontaine (above water) is what Mondstadt should have been. When I first set foot into Fontaine and saw all the pretty flowers and bird, even though I immediately loved the scenery, I was also a bit sad. Because Venti would want his nation to look like that too. Or rather, I'm sure it would look like that, but Hoyo will never update the old zones. :/ Let's hope Dornman Port will be beautiful!

Unfortunately, I feel like with the size of the cast these days, it's really hard for mhy to actually give older characters the attention that they deserve, which does make a lot of sense but it also why they haven't been able to focus on Xiao as much. Like with Lantern Rite this year, they were trying to focus on Gaaming, Xianyun, Ganyu, and Shenhe because they were shiny and new or had new outfits, so some of the characters like Xiao were kinda relegated to a cameo. (And then they brought in the Fontainians for the epilogue for some reason?? I still can't stand that choice to this day tbh). That's why the poetry gala was so delightful to me, because it focused on a lot of characters that don't get a lot of spotlight most of the time (Diona, Chongyun, Noelle, Mika, etc.), and I just wish that mhy would do events like that more often when we just get to hang out with characters from past regions.

Sometimes I kinda feel like they put too much Fontaine in Version 4 even though it's the Fontaine version, we barely even saw Sumeru outside of Cyno Part II and the Inazuma event was painfully short, plot-wise. All of which is a long-winded way to say that I do wish we could see Xiao interacting with other characters more often, but I feel like the size of the cast is also to blame. We still get scraps though, I'm gonna hold the moment of him and Chongyun interacting close to my heart for a long time, I've been hoping to see them interact for literal years and it was more than I ever could have hoped for <3
